However, this particular atheist has heard all that nonsense before, and every time he hears it again it confirms his view that the religious people in this world are deluding themselves - aided by a predatory bunch of clergy of course. That is not to say that all of them are evil . . .but just that their livelihoods are at risk if they don't promote their wares.Plasma Engineerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02891736950166421184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6615941543485589009.post-48476583963497461752013-07-06T00:41:05.434+01:002013-07-06T00:41:05.434+01:00Not absolutely clear on your reasoning there, - ho...Not absolutely clear on your reasoning there, - how exactly do you get from "look, a tree! It seems to me the proof is shown repeatedly with every breath of air you take, if you've ever seen TREES or flowers grow, took a voyage on an OCEAN. seen a baby grow from a blob to a cool, young adult. These are just a few tiny examples that are there for the taking. It seems to be harder to prove there isn't one from the desperation I've read on these anti-Jesus, anti-God posts that really seem more sad than anything. I expect atheists to know their "stuff" but this atheist seems to keep trying to convince themselves it seems. To each their own and even Jesus would say Amen to that as long as it is all in love...YouKnowI'mRighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11647623998146613824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6615941543485589009.post-75009829035844806992012-03-21T13:31:28.819+00:002012-03-21T13:31:28.819+00:00@anonymous - Thanks, I will add it to the list.@anonymous - Thanks, I will add it to the list.Plasma Engineerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02891736950166421184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6615941543485589009.post-12190889709497710982012-03-13T16:15:39.445+00:002012-03-13T16:15:39.445+00:00I'd be interested to see if you plan on doing ...I'd be interested to see if you plan on doing the ever-prevalent "You're taking it out of context!"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6615941543485589009.post-68469259365899097332012-03-12T18:46:41.033+00:002012-03-12T18:46:41.033+00:00There is a very well established cure for poverty....There is a very well established cure for poverty. It works in every part of the world.

There is one drawback though. You have to treat women as equals and give them control over their reproductive rights. The male dominated religions of the world are afraid of doing this.

I mention that in today's post - see 12th March 2012 for details.Plasma Engineerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02891736950166421184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6615941543485589009.post-60217070209132842492012-03-11T07:58:28.949+00:002012-03-11T07:58:28.949+00:00In quotes about this film it is said that organisa...In quotes about this film it is said that organisations cannot end poverty but God's church can.
Why then do we still have poverty - is over 2,000 years not long enough?
A study of the salaries paid to senior employees of the Church of England demonstrates they are in it for the money.Derby Sceptichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03629477237742844883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6615941543485589009.post-50049248803436567792012-03-11T01:28:51.300+00:002012-03-11T01:28:51.300+00:00I like this series. Do you claim there is no god, or are you like me and say it's highly unlikely there is a god? I mean.. God could mean so many things. Maybe there could be something supernatural that qualifies as a god. Then again, if god could mean anything supernatural, why do we need the word god anyway?Andrewnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6615941543485589009.post-60559942018141381952012-03-10T23:09:55.912+00:002012-03-10T23:09:55.912+00:00...by the way, the number 58 is a reference to Isa......by the way, the number 58 is a reference to Isaiah 58 in which God sets out the way He expects His people to behave regarding injustice and poverty, that He expects His people to take a stand against injustice etc... a great deal of the Old Testament does actually speak of the Grace of God, and the need for mercy and compassion and that we need to be a voice for the voiceless and powerless...

Actually there is a great deal of consistency in both Old and New Testaments, and even the criticisms you make are actually not valid.Hilarynoreply@blogger.com
